Summer at Coyote Yurts

Coyote Yurt is the perfect place to base yourself for a variety of adventures.  Nestled on a ridge at 8700 feet, Coyote is the ultimate alpine getaway from the summer heat and crowds.  Enjoy stunning views of the spectacular Boulder and Pioneer Mountains, and relax with nearly all the comforts of home, and none of the distractions. Hike, Mountain Bike, or drive to within 1/3 of a mile to the yurt and enjoy a comfortable and unique experience with friends and family.  All cooking and cleaning supplies are provided.  Coyote is comprised of two separate yurts (sleeps 19) and is supplied with a 3-burner propane stove, a propane BBQ grill, a Dutch Oven, bunk beds with sleeping pads, an outhouse, Goal Zero solar powered lanterns and charging station, a speaker for your music, an outdoor fire-pit, and pre-cut firewood. You only need to bring your sleeping bags, food, beverages and friends. Coyote Yurt accesses has a vast network of trails for hiking and biking (see maps below). A favorite among Coyote renters is to hire a shuttle.   We will drop you at the trail-head of your choice then transport your gear and food to the yurts while you hike or bike amazing single-track.  Contact us to find out more. Coyote Yurt may just be the most picturesque place you'll enjoy an Idaho sunset and starry night. Please note that you cannot drive the last 1/3 of mile to the yurt, which can be walked or biked. Also, note that the road is closed after August 29th, so it is not possible to drive up after that. Hiking and biking are still open in the autumn months!

Hut Rates

There is a minimum rate of $440/night that applies for up to eight guests, $55 for each additional person. Additional kids from six to twelve are $25/night. All reservations are Private. It is best that at least one member of your group be familiar with the route, access and correct hut operations. We recommend hiring a Hut Rent Orientation if this is the group’s first time to this yurt.

know before you go

We’d like you to have a phenomenal experience while staying at our huts! Good preparation before your trip will make the difference between an amazing adventure or an ‘epic’ one. If you choosing not to hire a professional guide you are entirely responsible for yourself and group. Please be sure that everyone in your group reviews the information and links found on this page. Each participant is required to fill out the online release form prior to departure. Mountain Biking or Hiking to/from the Coyote Yurts is spectacular! Coyote Yurts sits at the apex of a vast network of trails, like the hub of a wheel, amazing backcountry trails surround the ridges and canyons near Coyote. For a full list of trails in the area check out the BCRD TrailLink . Recommended Trails to/from the Yurts include: Osberg Ridge: for the approach or exit Alden Gulch: for amazing new school downhill run Adam’s Rib: for a sweet descent back to Ketchum Old Adam’s Gulch: for a great hiking approach or exit Oregon Gulch: (AKA Edge of the World) for a steep downhill run Easley Hot Springs: for a steep downhill run to a hot springs Fox Peak: can be connected with Osberg Ridge for a quick loop from the yurt Rooks Creek: is best avoided! Castle and Placer Creek: trails can be added on if you plan to return to Warm Springs Baker/Norton and Prairie Creek: can also be added onto create some epic adventure rides.
